H.E.L.P. Ministries
(Healing Hands Engaging Loved People)
Statement of Purpose
In light of the stresses and strains that modern life places on people from every walk of life, the Lakeside Church of God has launched a vital volunteer ministry to assist those in our congregation in need. H.E.L.P. Ministries will serve to connect volunteers with those in our congregation that are most needy. H.E.L.P. will come in many forms, such as a phone call, a home visit, travel assistance to and from appointments, and of course and most importantly prayer.
H.E.L.P. will be coordinated by Joyce Nelson and Delight McCollum who will assist the Pastor in making sure the members of our church family that are in the greatest need will see those needs ministered to.
H.E.L.P. is based on the scriptural foundation of Spiritual gifts in the local church.
1 Corinthians 12:27-28 (NKJV)
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.
28 And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.
The word HELPS in this list denotes a gift of the Spirit placed in the church for the purpose of ministering to needs of the church body, especially to those who are weak and needy. That is our purpose, to identify those in need and reach out to them with the love of Jesus through ministry.
